Developer Skelwith Group will build 500 residential apartments in Bradford city centre in an effort to regenerate the key site, it has been announced.
The Aspire CityGate development, located on the Manchester Road, will provide affordable apartments in the area.
The company will work on the regeneration project in collaboration with Bradford Trident Trading.
The first phase of construction, which is scheduled to begin early next year, will deliver some 224 apartments.
The apartments are expected to be ready by the end of 2013. Prices will start from £50,000.
Paul Ellis, managing director of the Skelwith Group, said: "We believe that even in the current financial climate, comfortable well designed apartments can be delivered in the heart of Bradford, most importantly we feel this can be delivered at the right price to be successful.
"Not only that, we feel the development adds to what is already a vibrant and exciting city and is paving the way for further developments in and around the centre of Bradford."
