Could you serve on the Yorkshire Forward board?
We’re looking for 2 new board members
As the region’s development agency, Yorkshire Forward’s responsibility is to drive forward the economic development of Yorkshire & Humber. Every year, we invest around £300m of public money (from central government and the EU) in order to:
- Support business growth
- Regenerate the region’s towns and cities
- Develop the skills of the workforce.
What do board members do?
Our board is made up of senior leaders from local government, the voluntary sector, trades unions and local businesses. They each champion areas of our policy, responsible for determining Yorkshire Forward’s investment decisions and maintaining strong relationships with our partners and stakeholders. They are accountable to HM Government via the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (formerly BERR).
Which posts are vacant?
We are currently looking for two new members. One needs to have a business background and the other should be from the voluntary and community sector.
What sort of people are we looking for?
In these challenging economic times, Yorkshire Forwards’ work has never been more vital to our region. So we’re looking for people who are enthusiastic about the economic development and regeneration of our region, and who can demonstrate a substantial track record of successful delivery and achievement. We need board members who understand the big picture and aren’t afraid of making tough decisions in favour of Yorkshire & Humber’s continued economic growth. Our new board members will be skilled, knowledgeable and innovative people, with varied experiences and backgrounds, who can turn their opinions and experience into action in order to contribute to our region’s success.
